Good Morning, NPL Families!

Your Team Managers would like to thank all of you for your help this summer. We appreciate your help with the supplying of snacks, helping with gear transportation, and making sure that your child(ren) were at the fields on time. While the season may be over, there are a few housekeeping things we need to remind you of:

  1. TOLLS. Please don't forget that you only have 7 days to pay your tolls from Chicago. Visit https://www.illinoistollway.com/ to pay if you did not purchase an I-Pass
  2. PARTY. NPL is hosting an end of the season party on Saturday, August 3, at 11:00 am. Details to come.
  3. GEAR CARE and CLEANING. Please view the Google doc for tips on care and maintenance of your lacrosse gear from seasoned lax moms. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tAI8pAlZtzKxieqA0m_bWlErsZ0W3K-VtCikK78sN14/edit?usp=sharing
  4. KEEP PRACTICING. Be sure to play wall ball every day in order to keep your skills sharp during the offseason. Also, be sure to switch up your hands when catching!
  5. NPL SUPPLIES. Have supplies (tables, carts, tents, etc.) that you helped transport this season? If so, please email Kurt at nepremierlax@gmail.com to find a time when gear and supplies can be collected and put into storage.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

U12 and U13 Gear Help Needed!!

Parents,

Currently, no one from either the U12 or U13 team has signed up to bring a tent or coolers with ice. Please consider helping out if you are able. Otherwise, those teams will be without shade/cool drinks. The forecast for Chicago looks to be in the mid to upper 80's this weekend. If you are able to help with the tent, please look for Jen Gibbons (U14) or Stefanie Mull (U12) at practice tonight and they can help you to find it inside of the dome's storage unit. If you are willing to bring coolers, you will need to bring one from your personal collection as all NPL coolers have been spoken for. Please text Sarah Lewis with any questions. THANK YOU!!  402.216.8029

**Updated Info on Illinois Toll Roads:

Many of the routes you will use in Illinois are toll roads. When traveling on these roads, you have 4 options:

  1. Have a large amount of change in your vehicle (about $25.00) ready to deposit in the toll booth
  2. Drive through the I-pass lane and pay your toll when you return home. If you choose this method, you will want to write down/take a picture of each toll booth number you pass through. (There is a trip calculator option online if you forget this step). You have 7 days to pay any unpaid tolls.
  3. Purchase an I-pass online ahead of time. Tolls will be automatically deducted as you drive through the I-pass lane. The I-pass does require a transponder to be placed on the windshield of your vehicle. The transponder can be purchased online and mailed to you (unfortunately this method takes 2 weeks) OR you can purchase one at most Road Ranger gas stations as well as most Jewel-Osco grocery stores in Illinois. For more detailed information on each option, please visit: https://www.illinoistollway.com/home
  4.  You can set your navigation to "No toll roads." Be advised, however, that this may not be the fastest route option, and often takes you down many back roads and country highways.

Please reserve your room by FRIDAY, MARCH 8, as the booking link will close. Once you have reserved your room, please forward a copy of your confirmation number to your team manager.

GroupMe Texts

Parents,

I just wanted all of you to be aware that I will be creating GroupMe text groups for each of the travel teams (not sure on U12 yet).  These will just be for the players and coaches ONLY.  This is to help the players stay in touch with each other and share ideas and thoughts.  I will also be posting key videos or links lacrosse related articles or training materials.

I just wanted to make sure all parents were aware of this before I set it up.  If you have any concerns or questions about this please let me know.

Helmets and Bags

We are looking at placing orders for 2 items (see attached for pictures):

  • Cascade S Helmet (Youth $220, Adult $250)
  • Maverick Monster Team Bag ($50)

Again, these items are totally optional but we do get better pricing than if you would buy it separately (save about $100 per helmet).  But there is a minimum order number that needs to be met.  We will need to get 12 helmets and 13 bags to get this pricing.

So I am collecting the FINAL list to see if we can met these numbers.  If you are interested in ordering either or both of these items, please reply to this email.  I am looking for responses by Next Wednesday Feb 30th

SmugMug - Photos & Videos

NPL has purchased and created a SmugMug account for the organization.  The intent of this is to be able to have an effective place to share large quantities for photos for ALL NPL events.  Below is the link to the main homepage for this NPL account:

https://nepremierlax.smugmug.com/

With the link above, you will ONLY see the general NPL events that we share with the public.  I have purposefully locked down the NPL travel team photos and restricted them to only those who have the proper link.  The link to view all the 2018 Travel Team photos is shown below.  Please note that you will need to save this link as you will not be able to access if from the main homepage:

https://nepremierlax.smugmug.com/NPL-Travel-Teams/n-CgTt7C

I know many of you parents take photos at the tournaments so I would love to get some of your photos so that it can be shared by all players/parents.  So I plan to use this SmugMug account as the place to do this.  But in order to upload photos, you will need a special link for each folder that is created on the site.  If you have photos that you would like to share, please reply back to this email and I will send you the instructions and links.

Would greatly appreciate you sharing your photos.
